WILKES-BARRE — A demolition project in downtown Wilkes-Barre is almost complete, according to city officials. They anticipate that utilities could be turned on to nearby properties by next week.
The buildings being torn down on South Main Street were condemned last month.
A women’s clothing store and a jewelry store that were originally told to leave are being allowed to stay.
Once the utilities are restored, those stores in downtown Wilkes-Barre will be able to move back in.
