SCRANTON -- The shopping continued over the weekend at the Scranton Cultural Center.

The facility opened all four floors Sunday to more than 100 local vendors.

This was the second year for the Buy Local Marketplace.

Admission and gift wrapping were free, and wine tasting from area wineries was also available.

Organizers say besides being a platform to showcase area merchants, the event also draws attention to the non-profit itself.

“More than just the money that is turned in today is the exposure that the building gets and the awareness that community has that this is truly their building.  And that there are so many programs we have during the entire year, that hopefully they will come back to support this building,” said Dawn McGurl.

Organizers say this year's marketplace was double the size of last year's event in Scranton.
