BUCKINGHAM TOWNSHIP — A man from Wayne County just turned 99 years old on Thanksgiving, and to celebrate friends and boy scouts threw him a surprise party on Sunday.
Tony Seccia showed up at the Lookout General Store in Buckingham Township, planning to make his weekly visit for the Sunday paper.
When he got there a boy scout troop was there, as well as a birthday cake.
Seccia has been involved with the boy scouts for 87 years and was given a mentor pin by an eagle scout he helped support.
“Out of the scout law I picked one, a scout is friendly. I’m a friend to everybody, and I’m a friend to every other scout,” said Seccia.
The boy scout troop recited the pledge with the now 99-year-old scout.
