MAHANOY CITY -- A man was stabbed to death in his home in Schuylkill County early Sunday morning.

Police said Lawrence Quinn, 52, of Mahanoy City, was found in his home dead from a stab wound around 6 a.m.

Lieutenant John Kaczmarczyk of the Mahanoy City Police Department said, "I think we are going to be able to take care of this pretty quickly, the residents of the borough have nothing to fear, this is not a random act."

Neighbors remember Quinn as a father of two who loved football, camping and dogs and lived with his longtime girlfriend, a nurse.

Lisa Raisner, who also lives on East Mahanoy Street said that Quinn worked at Mrs. T's pierogies in Shenandoah, and would often bring home food to share with his friends.

"We would take the dogs to the park, let them run, he was just a good guy, we played board games all the time. It is very sad that I have to lose my best guy friend right now, it is very hard," said Raisner.

The night before the stabbing Quinn, Lisa, and her husband Terry were at the Raisner's home watching college football.

Sometime before 6 a.m. there was a knock on the door of their home, a woman saying that she had stabbed Quinn and to call 911.

Newswatch 16 is not identifying the woman because she has not been charged at this time.
