BLOOMSBURG -- Bloomsburg police say they caught a man in the act of burglarizing a church early Wednesday morning. They arrested the suspect and then discovered that he may also be responsible for a break-in at another church.

David Navar, 36, of Freeland is locked up in Columbia County on charges including burglary and receiving stolen property.

Bloomsburg police say they caught Navar around 3 a.m. Wednesday while he was burglarizing the First Presbyterian Church on Market Street.

Police then discovered that the Wesley United Methodist Church across the street had also been broken into.

Navar is accused of taking three laptop computers, a computer monitor and almost $900 in cash from those two churches in Bloomsburg.
