Wednesday is one of the biggest travel days of the year and it's off to a wet start.
People traveling through our area Wednesday morning dealt with some rain, but it seems, at least in our area, the worst of it is over.
Interstate 81 in Lackawanna County was slick in the morning hours. Any snow left in the lower elevations came from Tuesday's nasty winter weather.
Some schools in the northern tier have called off classes Wednesday.
Slippery roads already caused problems for holiday travelers, including drivers on Interstate 380 in Monroe County. Newswatch 16 found several cars that went off the road between the Gouldsboro and Tobyhanna exits Tuesday night.
"I saw a car with its flashers on and then we just hydroplaned, that`s what everyone, no one crashed into anyone thank god, no one was hurt, but everyone just up and into the ditch," said Michael Vellutato, of California.
Drivers we spoke with said it is best just to take your time and play it safe during your holiday travels.
