The 6-foot-4, 187-pound netminder was named USA Hockey College Player of the Year for 2013 after leading Quinnipiac to the school’s first-ever Frozen Four appearance this past spring at CONSOL Energy Center. Hartzell helped the Bobcats reach the championship game.

The native of White Bear, Minnesota, was also a finalist for the Hobey Baker Award as the NCAA’s top college hockey player this season after posting a 30-7-5 record, 1.57 goals-against average and .933 save percentage in 42 starts
