Suspect In Diocese Theft Waives Hearing

SCRANTON — A former employee at the Diocese of Scranton has paid back $100,000 of the $340,000 she’s accused of stealing from the poor.

Sharon Warunek of Scranton gave up her right to a hearing Wednesday.

Last month, she was arrested for allegedly taking donations for Catholic charities and using the money to pay her own credit card bills.

    why do the Scranton taxpayers have to bail out the city of mistakes the mayor and council members have made. and now punish the people who do pay there garbage bills on time and there taxs on time
