On Tuesday, Oakland Raiders Head Coach, Dennis Allen, named Matt McGloin as his starting quarterback for this Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans! Allen’s decision came just two days after McGloin led the Raiders to a 28-23 victory over the Houston Texans. But McGloin won’t be the only Scranton native featured in this NFL game.
The Titans head coach, Mike Munchak, is also a Scranton native. Munchak grew up playing football in Scranton, and went on to become one of the best lineman to play for Joe Paterno at Penn State. He the spent 12 seasons playing with the Houston Oilers in the NFL, before being named the head coach of the Titans.
McGloin grew up knowing all about the success of the Hall of Famer, and now McGloin will have a chance to play against him. During his Tuesday media conference, Munchak said that he believes McGloin has surpassed him in the popularity contest within the Electric City. But, Munchak also added, that he couldn’t be more happy for McGloin’s success.
