KULPMONT — A man who owned a fire-damaged property in Kulpmont has signed the place over to the borough.

David Dubbs surrendered the property Thursday in exchange for the borough eliminating fines and citations against him.

The house that stood on the lot was destroyed by fire in January. The borough began to fine Dubbs when the rubble of the fire was not cleared away.

Borough officials said they will get bids to demolish and clear away the debris by the end of the year.

Kulpmont borough council will decide how to use the property.
