BRODHEADSVILLE -- The military men and women currently serving overseas will be getting some help thanks to the donations made in Monroe County.

"Operation Touch of Home" held its annual fall drive at Kinsley's Shoprite near Brodheadsville on Sunday.  Organizers were collecting all sorts of food and supplies to the troops serving in harm's way.

There was a collection bin at the exit of the store for people to drop off items or donate money.

The organization has been sending care packages for a decade now to make sure the troops feel appreciated.

"It's just a little something so that we can give back to them so they know here at home we're thinking about them. They're not just over there alone, there's someone at home thinking about them," said Karl Leiner.

All the items for troops at the American Legion in Gilbert will be mailed Tuesday so that they arrive in time for the holidays.
