Crestwood Keeps it Close with Berwick

Berwick crushed nearly every team it faced in the regular season, but this is the post-season and the Bulldogs are finally seeing some close competition. In the first round of the district playoffs, Berwick hosted Crestwood, and the Comets put up quite a good fight. After losing 41-7 in week one of the regular season to Berwick, Crestwood went on to win its next nine games, and carried that momentum in Crispin Field on Saturday.

Berwick led 7-6 at the half, and Crestwood came back to take the lead in the second half. But, a late touchdown run by Dain Kowalski gave Berwick a one-point lead in the 4th quarter. Then the Dawgs defense came alive late in the game to keep the Comets out of the endzone again, and Berwick came away with the victory, 14-13. Berwick will face Abington Heights next week.
