Man Arrested For Beating In Wilkes-Barre

MACKEY

WILKES-BARRE– Police in Wilkes-Barre have arrested and charged Michael Anthony Mackey Jr of Peckville for beating another man last month.

Investigators say Mackey and the victim, Anthony Gipson, were involved in a fight along West Northampton Street around 2a.m. on October 19th.

Witnesses told police they say Mackey hit Gipson several times, and continue hitting him even after Gipson was unconscious.

Gipson was hospitalized and in a coma for a time, according to his family members.

Mackey is facing charges including aggravated assault, simple assault, and disorderly conduct.

    There’s no reason to beat someone, period, but that’s “bar culture” for you. Even those bars that are nice looking and in various neighborhoods, sooner or later, get people in it who just want to fight and argue and/or gossip and lie. That’s one reason why I rarely go into them anymore, even if they look upscale and accommodating.

    NO REASON TO BEAT SOMEONE AFTER THEIR UNCONSCIOUS. HE DESERVES TO GO TO STATE PRISON AND SEE IF HE LIKES BEING AROUND OTHER PEOPLE WHO WOULD DO THE SAME TO HIM!
