SCRANTON -- A ceremony at the Scranton Cultural Center on Thursday kicked off an annual Thanksgiving tradition to help provide holiday food to families in need.

Family to Family is a Thanksgiving food basket program headed up by Mary Lou Burne and her husband.

Over the past 27 years, the program has fed hundreds of thousands of people in the greater Scranton area.

The baskets will be given out at the cultural center the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
