Mellow Moved To Facility In Pennsylvania

SCRANTON — A former senator from Lackawanna County is now out of a federal prison and in a halfway house.

Former Senator Bob Mellow began serving a 16-month sentence  in January in a federal prison in South Carolina.

Newswatch 16 has now confirmed that Mellow has been moved to a halfway facility in Pennsylvania.

He was sentenced in Novemeber 2012 after being convicted of mail fraud and filing a false tax return.

The former senator’s sentence is scheduled to end in March 2014.
