OLD FORGE — Officials in the borough of Old Forge have unanimously accepted the resignation of former Police Chief Larry Semenza.

He submitted his resignation in late October after a Lackawanna County jury found him guilty of two misdemeanors related to the sexual abuse of a teenaged girl.

The conviction means Semenza can no longer be a police officer.

He faces six years in prison when he’s sentenced in Lackawanna County Court.
