The Luzerne County coroner's office has identified the man whose body was found this morning inside a house as Eduardo Madera, 46.
Police still will not say how they think the man died.
The uncertainty of what happened has upset many people in the heights section of the city.
Police were called to this house on East Northampton Street shortly after midnight.
911 dispatchers say a woman called for help after she came home and found Madera on the kitchen floor.
The coroner says Madera died early Wednesday morning and detectives are investigating the case as an apparent homicide.
Officials will not say how they think Madera was killed.
People who live in the neighborhood say there were two homicides within a few blocks from here earlier this year.
"I couldn’t sleep because I’m like, ‘what’s going on?’ I just moved to this part of the area. Then I woke up again and I saw them bring a body out and I’m like, ‘Oh, my God, not again,’" said Erica Rasnick.
The coroner’s office says Eduardo Madera was living with family here and just moved to Wilkes-Barre from Kansas City, Missouri, a few weeks ago.
Investigators say they should know how Madera died after an autopsy on Thursday.
So far, no one has been charged with any crime.
