MONTOURSVILLE — Officials say a small private plane made a rough landing Tuesday night at Williamsport Regional Airport.

It happened around 6:30 p.m.

Airport officials said the plane, a twin-engine Piper Aerostar, came down with the landing gear up. They said the aircraft received moderate damage and is being taken to the maintenance facility on site for repairs.

The pilot was the only one on board and was not hurt.

Authorities said the runway should be reopened by about 9 p.m.

The FAA will investigate the incident.
