Democrat Mark McAndrew is the projected winner in the race for Lackawanna County Sheriff.

McAndrew greeted supporters in Dickson City around 9:30 p.m.

"I think the show of support I have here from my fellow workers, (they) know that when I come into office that they'll get a fair shake, we're going to work hard, and we're going to get the job done," McAndrew said.

McAndrew, a Lackawanna County deputy sheriff was opposed by Republican candidate Dominic Manetti, also a deputy sheriff.
