One Dead and Four Injured After a Crash in Wayne County

PALMYRA TOWNSHIP-- One person is dead, and four are left with major injuries after a head-on car crash in Wayne County.

According to police, an Oldsmobile and Mazda crashed on Owego Turnpike in Palmyra Township, near Honesdale just before 5 Saturday night.

Officials said the driver of the Oldsmobile traveled into an oncoming Mazda, resulting in the Mazda flipping onto it's side, trapping four people in the vehicle.

State police said the driver of the Oldsmobile, 57 year-old Manuel Mirailh of Lake Ariel was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police also said four people were extricated from the mazda and taken to the hospital Saturday night in Wayne County.
