The High School Cross Country State Championships were held this Saturday at Hershey, and several teams and individual runners from our area took home the gold! In the girls ‘A’ race, Tess Kearns of Holy Cross finished fifth, and helped the Holy Cross team take home the team title, while Elk Lake won the silver medal! In ‘AA’ girls, Regan Rome of Dallas claimed the silver, while her team took home gold! In ‘AAA’ girls, it was all about Tessa Barrett of Abington Heights, as the senior phenom broke a state record at the Hershey Parkview course with a first place finish of 17 minutes and 30 seconds!
In the boys state championships, Griffin Molino of South Williamsport, claimed the gold with a whopping finish in 15 minutes, 54 seconds! In ‘AA’ action, the team title went to the Tunkhannock Tigers! Winning the individual title in ‘AA’ was Dominic Deluca of Dallas. He finished with a time of 16 minutes, 21 seconds, and coming in second place was Dominic Hockenbury of Lake-Lehman.
