New Section Of Lackawanna River Trail Open

FELL TOWNSHIP — A new section of the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail opened officially on Friday.

The newest three-mile stretch runs from Simpson to Vandling.  This span connects the northern and southern sections of the trail.

It’s also the only part where people can ride snow mobiles and horses.

The 70-mile Lackawanna River Heritage Trail runs from the New York state line to Pittston.

    anyone know where we can get a map of the whole trail? I’ve hiked from Carbondale up to Thompson -but never south of Carbondale, Pa.
