SCRANTON — A man has pleaded guilty to money laundering charges in Lackawanna County.
Investigators say it all has to do with a multi-state prostitution ring.
According to court papers, Michael Shen and four others were indicted in May 2011 after federal prosecutors say they broke up a prostitution ring.
They say that four area spas and massage parlors were fronts for the ring in Luzerne, Lackawanna and Monroe Counties.
Authorities accuse five people of bringing in illegal immigrants from China, Korea, and Thailand and forcing them to work as prostitutes.
