BERWICK -- Firefighters in Columbia County said flames sparked in a factory due to a mechanical malfunction.

Crews said they put out a fire at the Wise Foods plant on Rasely Street in Berwick.

Authorities say the flames started just after 5 p.m.  Responders said crews evacuated 200 workers for safety precautions.

Firefighters believe a problem with fryer started the fire.  No one was hurt.
