LEWISBURG — A jury was picked Monday to hear the case against a police chief in Union County.

Investigators say Hartleton Police Chief Donald Zerbe gave drivers a way out of speeding tickets if they made a donation to a playground fund.

Zerbe was in court a few weeks ago when he pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct in an unrelated case.

Zerbe’s trial for theft by extortion is scheduled to start in December in Union County.
