ARMSTRONG TOWNSHIP — What first started as two vehicles burning at a business on Route 15 has turned into an arson investigation.

State police were on the scene at Clean Harbors, an environmental services company that services the natural gas industry.

Two trucks parked outside were found burning early Thursday morning. State police have ruled that arson.

Then, when employees came into work, Investigators said gasoline had been poured throughout the facility.

Workers were removing office equipment and carpets.

State police said there’s no sign anyone tried to light the gas on fire.

Inside the business we noticed some vandalism that said “No frac,” relating to the gas industry’s practice of fracking.

Investigators said it does not appear to be an attack on the industry, but rather it could be someone trying to throw off investigators.

A spokesman for clean harbors said, “We have suffered no previous instances of vandalism at this facility and have a strong relationship with the local community, where we employ 25 people.”

Anyone who was in the area of Clean Harbors shortly before 2 a.m. on Route 15 near South Williamsport is asked to call state police.
