Train Engine Catches Fire, Blocks Traffic

LAFLIN — A train caught fire early Thursday in Luzerne County.

The locomotive stopped on the track in Laflin around 2 a.m.

Firefighters used foam to put out the burning engine on the 37-car train.

The train blocked Pittston Avenue while crews cleaned up.

Another engine on the train was able to take it on its way.
