VATICAN CITY, ITALY -- More than 100 people from the Diocese of Scranton experienced a life changing moment.

The group visited Rome this week and went to the Vatican for the weekly audience with Pope Francis.

The diocese sent Newswatch 16 a picture of Bishop Joseph Bambara speaking with the pope. Bishop Bambera said he thanked the pope for his generous service to the church.

The pope responded by saying he was grateful for the bishop's words and asked Bishop Bambera and the Diocese of Scranton to pray for him.
