1983: After the Bombings in Beirut

Thirty years ago suicide bombers attacked a military barracks in Beirut, Lebanon.

Before the attack, hositilities in that region were growing.

Eight days before the barracks bombing a marine from Montrose, John Petrie, exchanged gunfire with the enemy.

After the bombing Petrie's family did not hear from him which understandably put them on edge.
