HANOVER TOWNSHIP — Dozens of employees at a call center in Luzerne County learned on Tuesday that they will lose their jobs right before Christmas.
Officials at Travelocity confirmed that 77 positions at Hanover Industrial Estates near Wilkes-Barre are being eliminated.
They say an increase in phone reservations did not increase as expected.
Travelocity workers losing their jobs will be given an opportunity to apply for other openings in the company.
Officials with the company said about 175 employees will still be working at the call center.
