SCRANTON — A woman from Virginia was sentenced Wednesday for mail fraud in federal court in Scranton.
Christine Tufts received 27 months in federal prison, followed by two years of probation. She must also pay back more than $760,000.
Federal investigators said Tufts, the owner of Foremost Settlement Services in Moosic, kept money that was supposed to be used to pay off clients’ mortgages.
