WILKES-BARRE — People driving through the city of Wilkes-Barre are dealing with traffic troubles downtown.

Emergency sewer repairs started Tuesday morning on South Franklin Street between Northampton and Market Streets.

City officials warn that there may be traffic delays.

That construction is expected to continue through rush hour in Wilkes-Barre.

It would be nice if the local police were a bit more proactive in helping motorists to be aware of the closure before they come upon the barriers (which are mere feet from the construction). As it is they are content to sit around and let motorists figure it out on their own.
