Caregiver Sentenced To Jail Time
STROUDSBURG — A caregiver will spend up to two years in jail for stealing tens of thousands of dollars from an elderly woman she was caring for.
Jeanette Strausser of Saylorsburg was sentenced Tuesday for stealing $70,000 from her elderly client last year.
Police say Strausser was in charge of the victim’s money after the victim’s partner died.
The partner’s brother came out for Strausser’s sentencing.
“She said she’s sorry and she’s remorseful but it didn’t stop her putting computers and things on eBay to sell and taking the money consistently without any scruples,” said Tony Webb of Gouldsboro.
Strausser was sentenced to up to two years in county jail and must pay $70,000 in restitution.
