CARBONDALE — The summer-like weather made for perfect conditions for a fall festival this past weekend in Lackawanna County.
The YMCA in Carbondale held the first ever event Sunday as a way to bring community members into the “Y” to see what the organization has to offer.
There were plenty of games and activities for kids and adults. People were even given the chance to throw a whipped cream pie in the face of the city’s mayor.
“It ended up being bigger and better than we imagined. We started off building around our fall mum sale and it turned into a whole day of activities and events that was, it was a blast,” said Heather Murphy, one of the organizers.
The YMCA in Carbondale hopes to hold the fall festival again next year.
