Arson Damages House in Hazleton

HAZLETON -- Hazleton Police confirm they are investigating an arson at a house on Grant Street.

Fire damaged the place Sunday afternoon.

Officials said they did not believe anyone was living in the house. The city's fire chief said no electricity or water was hooked up.

According to the chief, crews were called to the house around 1 p.m. Sunday. They found flames coming from the basement.

The fire chief told Newswatch 16 the basement was filled with clutter.

A state police fire marshal looked into the cause of the fire in Hazleton.
