POTTSVILLE -- Everything from computers to wood is being recycled this month in Schuylkill County.

A lot of material ended up in Pottsville. City street department crews are doing double duty these days. Pottsville is part of Schuylkill County's annual recycling program.

Jeff Blackman said it saves him money.

"We had actually thought about renting a dumpster to recycle some of our stuff. It's a lot less inexpensive to do so."

Blackman explained the recycling program is helping him prepare for colder weather too.

"We have a car that we'd like to park in our garage this winter and this really helps us to provide room." Blackman said.

Zachary Mont helps crews unload some speakers and wood. Mont said he plans on making a second trip.

"I have an old treadmill and a dryer that`s no longer working, so we're getting rid of that and an old pool table."

City officials say they are seeing more items this year than ever before.

Dan Kelly, who is in charge of the street department, said he doesn't mind getting overloaded.

"This is our second trailer. We called this morning to have a second trailer delivered. We have stuff stacked on the ground that we can't put in the trailer and we've been double stacking."

The county-wide cleanup will continue until the end of the month.
