SCRANTON -- People in part of Lackawanna County left their air conditioned offices Wednesday to do work outdoors.

We found employees from MetLife in Clarks Summit doing yard work at the American Red Cross headquarters on Jefferson Avenue in Scranton.

This group is one of 30 companies in Lackawanna and Wayne counties that volunteered their time in the community for the United Way's Day of Caring.

MetLife employees tell Newswatch 16 they've been taking part in the United Way Campaign for several years.
