SCRANTON -- Several ceremonies are being held throughout our area to remember those killed in the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

One was held Wednesday morning at McDade Park in Scranton.

The event honors first responders killed in the attacks, along with our servicemen and women.

The names of seven soldiers from our area who died overseas were added to the monument.

A new plaque honoring Scranton native Jerry Moran, who was killed in the attack on the Pentagon, was also dedicated during the ceremony.

"The point is to remember, never forget, the sacrifice of the military, never forget the innocent victims who died that day at the hands of evil," said Charles Spano.

The dedication marked the eight year for the 9/11 tribute in Scranton.
