MILFORD -- In front of the Milford Fire Department in Pike County is a piece of history: part of a beam from World Trade Center Tower 1.

"It's bone chilling, man, it brings back a lot of memories. I was down there that day, not in the city but very, very close and I know people that were involved, that lost and it affected everybody. Like I said, to touch it raises the hair on the back of your neck," said Fire Department Lt. Matt Adames.

The beam is in Milford for a short while on its way to Wisconsin in honor of a victim of the September 11 attacks.

Members of the Milford Fire Department laid a wreath in front of it on the eve of the 12th anniversary of the September 11 attacks; a day they will never forget.

"It seems like just yesterday, we were talking about it the other day, you know? Everybody watching the TV, knowing where you were at, all that. It went by so fast," said Fire Chief Tony Mann.

Many were surprised to see the beam in Milford, Pennsylvania, a borough of just over 1,000 people.

People said seeing it makes them remember where they were 12 years ago when they learned of the attacks.

"Yeah, I remember where I was. I was at band practice, yeah. Yeah, 12 years it's crazy," said Adam Peck of Milford.

"Being a little town, Milford, that's pretty historic to me," said Adames, who added he is proud the beam is in Milford, especially for the anniversary of the attacks.
