DALTON — The 6th Annual SGT Jan Argonish Ride was held Sunday afternoon in Lackawanna County.

Dozens of motorcycle riders and passengers wound their way through the county to raise money for the Argonish Memorial Fund, plus another fund that helps build homes for soldiers injured in combat.  The turnout was perhaps the largest in the six year history of the ride.

SGT Argonish, a Peckville native, was shot and killed in Afghanistan in August of 2007.  He was just 26 years old.

In addition to the bike ride, there was a picnic and live music at the Dalton Fire Company carnival grounds.

Motorcycles completed a fifty mile course through the area.  Part of the ride took them through Jessup.  Motorcycles passed beneath a huge flag suspended over Route 247 near the Casey Highway. Ladder trucks from Dickson and Blakely helped do the honors.
