HARTLEY TOWNSHIP — New charges were filed against a suspended police chief in Union County.

Hartleton Police Chief Donald Zerbe was suspended earlier this year after being accused of allowing drivers to get out of speeding tickets if they donated to a playground fund.

Now Zerbe has been charged with criminal mischief and disorderly conduct.

Troopers say he was mowing a lawn at a home near Laurelton last month and damaged a vehicle and equipment belonging to contractors working at the same house.
