CARBONDALE -- A home in Lackawanna County was gutted by fire Wednesday.
Flames started around 8:30 a.m. in the home on 42nd Street in Carbondale.
Fire officials said it started in the back of the house and spread quickly.
Firefighters were still putting water on the fire two hours later, trying to put out some hot spots.
Carbondale's mayor said the family lived there for about 70 years.
There is no word from fire officials on the cause of the fire.
