FREELAND —For the second time in just a few weeks, a man has been arraigned for allegedly making threats against borough leaders in Luzerne County.
Wayne Harding, 57, from Freeland appeared before a judge Tuesday night.
Freeland’s council president says council members called off their meeting that was scheduled for 7 p.m, erring on the side of caution because of the threats.
Back in August, Harding was arrested after saying he would see the borough’s code enforcement officer “in his grave.”
Freeland council president Robert Quinn, said, “Earlier this morning, he made similiar threats yesterday about the council meeting tonight and he would kill one of the borough officials and his family and also burn down the town.”
Tuesday night’s cancelled meeting in Freeland will be rescheduled after proper public notification procedures take place.
