Students in two school districts could have a very long holiday break.

Classes are cancelled for Tuesday at Wyoming Area in Luzerne County, as teachers are set to hit the picket lines.

Officials say the strike could go as long as three weeks.

The main sticking point is salaries. Teachers last had a raise in 2010.

The last strike in the Wyoming Area school district was in the late 1970s.

It's a similar story in Lackawanna County.

Old Forge teachers are also set to strike Tuesday.

The main point of contention is health care costs.

Teachers in Old Forge have been working without a contract since 2010.
