The Penn State football team won the 2013 opener 23-17 over Syracuse at Met Life Stadium in East Rutherford NJ on Saturday August 31st. It was the start of year two for head coach Bill O'Brien. O'Brien went with true freshman quarterback Christian Hackenberg and he delivered with a great second half connecting on touchdown passes to Allen Robinson and Eugene Lewis from Wyoming Valley West high-school and Wilkes-Barre Meyers.

WNEP Sports Director Jim Coles was there to catch-all the excitement from a victorious Nittany Lions locker room. Penn State opens up at home next weekend with a noon kickoff at Beaver Stadium with Eastern Michigan.
