It was a busy Labor Day weekend this year in the Poconos.

Several local festivals brought in travelers looking for some fun.

The 19th annual Garlic Festival brought in hundreds of people at the Shawnee Ski Resort near Stroudsburg.

Local vendors used the two-day festival as a way to showcase their products, many made of garlic.

About an hour away in Carbon County, several streets in Weissport, near Lehighton, were blocked off.

The community held its annual Redneck Festival in the middle of town.

"You never know what you might find here at the Redneck festival," Roberta Yost of Montgomery County said.

Yost has been coming to the festival for five years.

She enjoys it so much, that it has become a Labor Day weekend tradition in her family.

"We make sure that our Labor Day weekend, at least on Sunday, is always spent here in Weissport, Pennsylvania," Yost said.

Organizers for both the Garlic Festival and the Redneck Festival said they are already planning for 2014.

Both hope to bring more travelers to the Poconos for Labor Day weekend.
