SCRANTON -- People traveling through Scranton this weekend may notice that it's a bit busier than normal.

The annual La Festa Italiana is underway at Courthouse Square.

The three day festival draws in dozens of food vendors from the region.

It also brings in a lot of people looking for great food.

"We have people that come down here every year to the same stand because they love the pastries that we bring here every year," Angelo Mancuso said.

Mancuso's family has been coming to La Festa since it started more than 30 years ago.

He said the festival allows them to bring their unique pastries to Northeastern Pennsylvania.

"Bringing a little bit of New York to the Scranton area to people that aren't able to experience it that much," Mancuso said.

Local vendors like Max Broden said La Festa Italiana is an exciting weekend.

Broden has been bringing his business, Lil Toni's Pizzeria for 14 years.

"The's a good time. It's hard work but it's fun," Broden said.

La Festa Italiana will continue through Monday in downtown Scranton.
