MOUNT POCONO -  The unofficial end of summer is upon us and one tourist destination in the Poconos is getting ready to welcome its last summer crowd.

Workers are busy getting Mount Pocono Campground ready for the crowd expected this weekend.

One guest is taking advantage of the campground, which is quiet, for now.

"I just came up early to start the weekend and get the camper all set up.  I'm ready to have some fun," said Katie Sachs of New Jersey.

Sachs is a special education teacher in New Jersey.  Setting up early is her way of getting the most out of the unofficial last weekend of summer, which is Labor Day.

"I have to go back to work next week so this is my last hurrah before I need to go back to the real world," said Sachs.

It's also the last hurrah for dozens of others, who are all making their way to Mount Pocono Campground.

"We're a few sites from being full right now," said Debbie Roberts, the owner of Mount Pocono Campground.

Starting Friday afternoon, a grassy area located in the middle of the campground will start filling up with dozens of tents. Roberts says a group of about 50 people, all who know each other, will fill the area.  It's something they've been doing every Labor Day for the past five years.

"It's our last big weekend pretty much of the summer, unfortunately," said Roberts.

But for Sachs, she's not letting the end of summer spoil the holiday or weekends ahead.

"I'll be back up in the fall, but only for the weekends. No early, 'come up Thursday' for me anymore," said Sachs, laughing.
