SUNBURY — Plans to temporarily close some WIC offices in central Pennsylvania are now on hold. WIC stands for “women, infants and children.”
WIC offices in Sunbury and Selinsgrove had planned to close Friday.
Other offices in central Pennsylvania were going to cut back on hours.
Money that keeps those offices running is tied up by a state audit. On Thursday, we learned that money from the Family Health Council of Central Pennsylvania is being freed up so the offices can stay open.
The WIC program provides food vouchers to thousands of families in central Pennsylvania every month.
