That verdict was reached around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday following three days of testimony inside the federal courthouse in Wilkes-Barre.
Williams from Scranton was found guilty of all the charges filed against him in an indictment last year including conspiracy to commit murder for hire.
Williams left the courthouse in an SUV with dark tinted windows after the verdict. He's being held in the Lackawanna County Jail in federal custody.
We also saw attorneys packing up evidence after the trial including what appears to be a boxed-up rifle.
The feds accused Williams of plotting with Edward McLaughlin to shoot and kill McLaughlin's ex-wife who lives in our area.
McLaughlin allegedly shipped a rifle from his home in Florida to Williams' home in Scranton.
The plot was never carried out because Williams' girlfriend at the time found out and told authorities.
The case against McLaughlin is set to go to trial next month.
The federal judge told Williams that the maximum penalty for the conviction in this murder-for-hire scheme calls for life in prison and up to $1.2 million in fines.
Gary Williams is expected to be sentenced in November.
